Started where most agencies don't.

Charell grew up in Watts and South Central Los Angeles. The lessons there weren't theoretical. Strategy, patience, and being two moves ahead weren't graduate-school concepts — they were how you got home safely. That instinct for reading rooms, anticipating moves, and building real plans (not slide decks) is the foundation of how TechSavvy Solutions does the work.

After years in IT, school district technology, mobile device service, and youth behavioral health, Charell saw a gap that wouldn't close on its own. Small businesses and community organizations were being sold templated websites at premium prices by agencies that treated them as the C-tier of the client list. The work they got was the work that was left over.

"Real organizations need real work. Not the leftovers."

So TechSavvy Solutions was built deliberately differently: founder-direct relationships, custom code, no template-and-flip, transparent pricing, and a refusal to treat schools, nonprofits, and small businesses as second-class clients. The work goes to the people doing it. The pricing reflects the value, not the prestige tax.

The lion means something.

The lion in our brand isn't decoration. It's a posture. Bold. Direct. Doesn't apologize for taking up space. In a market full of timid websites built to offend no one, that posture is the differentiator.

But underneath the boldness is something quieter: strategy. Chess is central to how Charell thinks about business, design, and life. Every move has consequences three moves out. Every position is built or undermined by what came before. Every great game starts with the same modest pawns — what matters is what you do with them.

That's why we don't lead with aesthetics. We lead with strategy. The aesthetics come from executing the strategy with precision. A website that looks bold without earning it is just a costume. A website built on a real strategic foundation can wear any aesthetic you give it.

"Strategy before aesthetics. The aesthetics are what you see. The strategy is what makes them work."

Two ventures. One mission.

TechSavvy Solutions is the for-profit arm. Young Minds Chess Foundation is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Charell also founded. The two organizations share a building, a phone number, and a philosophy — but they serve different audiences with different deliverables.

TechSavvy ships paid client work. Young Minds runs chess, coding, and STEM programs for kids — especially those from communities that don't usually get access to those tools. Both organizations exist because Charell believes the same thing from two different directions: that critical thinking, strategy, and technical fluency are the most valuable things you can give someone, and that the people who need them most are often the last to be offered them.

This dual structure also means TechSavvy clients are buying into something larger. When you hire us for a website, part of the work we do feeds programs that hand chess sets to kids in after-school rooms. The two halves reinforce each other. Strategy isn't just what we sell. It's what we teach.

★ What we believe

Six principles. Non-negotiable.

01

Strategy before aesthetics

Pretty design that doesn't solve a problem is decoration. We start with the strategic question — what is this for, who is it for, what does it need to do — and let the aesthetics follow from there.

02

Custom over template

Templates make organizations look like everyone else. We build from scratch every time. The cost of custom isn't as high as you think, and the upside compounds for years.

03

Founder-direct relationships

You work with Charell. Not an account manager, not a junior, not a project coordinator. Decisions in the room. Scope changes in real time. The founder has skin in the game.

04

Ownership over lock-in

You own everything we make for you. The files, the code, the assets. No proprietary CMS that hostages you. No monthly fees that pretend to be subscriptions. Hire us again because you want to, not because you have to.

05

Transparency about money

Our pricing is published. You know what things cost before you fill out the contact form. The conversation about money is short because we've already had it on the website.

06

The work, then the work

We don't lead with awards or testimonials. We lead with the work. If the work doesn't convince you, no amount of marketing language will.
